To Those Who Mourn

My dad left this earth this morning.

I like the following excerpt and would like to share it with you:

To Those Who Mourn

For that is the real truth:
man is a soul and has a body.
The body is not the man; it is only the clothing of a man.
What you call death is the laying aside of a worn-out garment,
and is no more the end of the man than it is the end of you
when you remove your coat.
Therefore you have not lost your friend;
you have only lost sight of the cloak
in which you were accustomed to see him.
The cloak is gone, but the man who wore it is not;
Surely it is the man that you love and not the garment.

Thanks to everyone for your kindness and support during this difficult time.

I could not have said it better than Clarice did. I must have just missed this post Monday morning before I went to work . . .

Angie, I am sorry for your loss. You and your dad shared such a special relationship. Watching you take care of him was a humbling experience.

love, Kristin

Hello Angie. When you shared your blog address with me I was speechless. Such creativity and thought (I should have expected nothing less). And intermixed was a wonderful tribute to your father. Truly, his legacy lives on through you and your own children. Thank you for sharing this piece of your life with me.

With fond memories and warm thoughts.
